IISc signs research agreement on fabricating PEMFC catalyst layers with ONGC-Energy Trust

A research agreement on Printed Electrocatalyst Layers for PEMFC/DMFC was entered into by ONGC-Energy Trust and IISc on 18 June, 2019. The agreement is for funding ongoing research in the Department of Chemical Engineering on fabricating electrocatalyst layers for fuel cell applications with ultralow platinum loading. The use of an inkjet printer for generating the nanostructured catalytic thin film layer on the proton exchange membrane is a novel aspect of the proposed research. The funding will also support the application of a doctoral student for the prestigious Prime Minister Fellowship for Doctoral Research scheme initiated by SERB-FICCI.
